The
Heritage Lottery Fund's Landscape Partnership
Programme
In partnership with Richard Clarke of CEPAR, and as a lead in to our more recent work with HLF, we helped develop a new approach to the evaluation of this programme as part of this work we provided support to Partnerships to enable them to demonstrate the value of the work they are carrying out. This was both on a 1:1 basis, and through the delivery of a number of training workshops.

Earlier this year David took a lead role in designing and facilitating a regional Green Infrastructure conference for Yorkshire and the Humber. His write up of this event, which provides an overview of the rationale, benefits and evidence base underpinning Green Infrastructure, can be found here.
Simon worked with Red Kite Environment facilitating community workshops and conferences to develop and implement a process to map perceptions of peace and tranquillity with the AONB. Using creativity, analytical and problem solving skills to build a baseline assessment and develop a cascade mechanism to enable the process to be repeated.

David has been a visiting lecturer at Birkbeck for many years, and has regularly delivered weekend and week-long programmes on site management planning. In 2010 he led a two day programme in London on environmental interpretation, and later in the year was co-tutor on a week long course studying environmental ethics, management planning and area studies on the Isle of Rum, Inner Hebrides.

Thomson
Reuters and the university sector
In parallel with environment based activities, David is involved in a range of strategic projects with the higher education sector, working with ‘Evidence’ – a Thomson Reuters company. In 2010 he worked on a report for Universities UK assessing future opportunities and challenges faced by the UK university research base in the context of the new government’s emerging economic policies. Previous projects have been commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, the British Academy, the Irish Universities Association and the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education.
